Comprehensive Exams

We go beyond the traditional eyeglass exam. Our exams include not only the assessment of how clearly your eyes are seeing but we do a comprehensive evaluation of the entire visual system. We test eye teaming and focusing, look at the neurological health of the eyes and perform a thorough dilated exam. This type of exam not only allows you to see clearly and comfortably today, but it helps us ensure tomorrow.

Custom Contact Fits

We enjoy seeing the "hard to fit" patient. Our doctors will spend time evaluating the shape of your eye and your prescription and use this information to find the best prescription for you. Your contact lens evaluation may include trying more than one lens, but the time we invest will be well worth it. We may also be able to direct ship your annual supply of contact lenses to your house.

Bifocal Contacts

We offer the most innovative soft and rigid gas permeable bifocal designs on the market today. Allowing you to have an optimal vision at both distance and near viewing. You just need to put them on and go.

LASIK Pre and Post Op Care

At our LASIK evaluations, we can determine whether LASIK surgery may be a good choice for you. Even if you are not a good LASIK candidate, we can discuss other options that you might not be aware of.

Dry Eye Treatment

If there are not enough lubricating tears on the surface of your eyes, you may experience dry eye symptoms such as dry, red, itchy, burning, or watery eyes, irritation, and pain. Dry eye treatment has gone beyond using just lubricating drops. There are new therapies available today that might fit your situation. Small, non-dissolvable lacrimal plugs may provide long-term relief from dry eye symptoms. Our doctors can insert these plugs in a matter of seconds during an office visit. After placement, the plugs cannot be seen, won't rub out or scratch your cornea, usually are not felt, and are removable. Why suffer any longer? Join the growing number of people who have chosen lacrimal occlusion to overcome their dry eye symptoms.

Glaucoma Treatment

Our offices can offer state-of-the-art care in glaucoma. While the three most common tests for glaucoma (the pressure test or air puff, visual field analysis, and optic nerve evaluation) are useful, they often do not detect glaucoma early enough. The GDx is the only glaucoma detection technology available that directly and objectively evaluates the nerve fiber layer of the eye. This test is comfortable, does not require drops or pupil dilation and provides results for both eyes within minutes. This allows us to be as accurate as possible in the treatment and management of this disease.

Pink Eye Treatment

There are numerous forms of pink eye and not all can be treated with a single eye drop. Our doctors are experienced at distinguishing between the various types of pink eye. This will not only help speed your recovery but can help to keep you more comfortable as your eyes heal.

Designer Frames

Our offices have a wide selection of designer eyewear. Styles by Calvin Klein, DKNY, Gucci, Polo, Esprit, Nicole Miller, and Georgio Armani. All frames come with a one-year warranty.

Spectacle Lenses

We offer a wide range of lens styles in order to ensure you superior vision. Hi-index lens to minimize thickness with Crizal anti-reflection to minimize glare and eyestrain. Varilux no-line bifocals to allow you optimal vision at any distance. TD2 scratch coating to give you true durability. Ask our opticians which lenses will work best with your prescription.

What to expect

The best way to protect your vision is a yearly comprehensive eye exam. When you arrive at our office, you will be greeted with friendly faces. Each eye exam will use the latest state-of-the-art technology to assess your eye health. The doctor will inspect your eyes, answer questions, and discuss your eye care treatment options. In addition to determining your vision prescription, our doctor will test your color vision, depth perception, and check for any early indicators of possible eye conditions such as cataracts, retinal problems, and glaucoma.

Our goal is to have each patient leave satisfied knowing that they are receiving the best eye care products and services possible. We have answered a few frequently asked questions regarding eye exams below.

Why is my personal background important?
In order to better tailor the eye examination to your needs, our doctor may review any current vision problems, your general health, as well as discuss your hobbies and lifestyle requirements.

Why does the doctor ask me, “Which is better: one or two?”
While evaluating your prescription, the doctor will ask you to compare a series of lenses to determine which allows you to see clearer. As the differences become less noticeable, the doctor will be closer to finalizing your prescription. If you’re having a hard time choosing between the options, it means you’re almost done with this part of the exam!

Why is it necessary to know my blood pressure?
In addition to other health concerns, high blood pressure can affect the blood vessels in your eyes, which could lead to future vision problems.

Why am I asked to follow a light with my eyes?
This part of the exam helps determine how your pupils and eye muscles react and assists in gauging neurological function

Is it necessary for the doctor to dilate my pupils during the exam?
Although pupil dilatation is not always necessary, the doctor may make this decision during your exam. If required, this painless process is like opening a door so the doctor can fully examine your retina. Dilation can assist in detecting diseases such as diabetes, high blood pressure, and macular degeneration.
